Terry Jo Vetters Bichell is a neuroscience graduate student (PhD candidate) at The Brain Institute, Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, United States working under the guidance of Dr. Aaron Bowman. Her research focuses on untangling gene-environment interactions in Huntington model mice. She looks at the effects of manganese exposure on the striata of pre-symptomatic mice, to understand how mutant huntingtin responds to environmental stressors differently from wildtype huntingtin. She hopes that her research will lead to treatments, as well as biomarkers, for Huntington’s Disease.
