Makenna is a graduate student who is earning an ScM degree in the Genetic Counseling Training Program at Johns Hopkins University and the National Institutes of Health. Upon graduating, she hopes to work as a genetic counselor for adults who have or are at risk for developing neurodegenerative conditions. Makenna completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University. She is currently a part of quantitative and qualitative research teams that study neurodegenerative illnesses in relation to genetic counseling, including Huntington’s Disease. Makenna is most interested in patients’ lived experiences with uncertainty and predictive testing.
